Ceremony in Auschwitz Birkenau - 27.01.2005

A barbed wire fence surrounds the Auschwitz (Birkenau) Nazi concentration camp with a symbolic fire on the former railway track during the 60th anniversary ceremony of the liberation on the 27th of January 1995. It is estimated that between 1.1 and 1.5 million Jews, Poles, Roma and others were killed here in the Holocaust between 1940-1945.
