Battle of White Mountain in 1620 - In the space of an hour, on November 8th, 1620, the Catholic Hapsburg army, under Maximilian of Bavaria, routed the Czech Protestants on this hillock outside Prague, deciding the fate of the Czech Kingdom for the next 300 years and starting one of the most devastating wars in the European history - Thirty-Years War... The battle is commemorated by a small stone monument and also by this Church of Our Lady Victorious.
