Stalin Bueste im Staatsmuseum der Geschichte und Kultur der Bewohner des Nordens im Zentrum der Stadt Jakutsk. Jakutsk ist im Winter eine der kaeltesten Grossstaedte weltweit mit durchschnittlichen Winter Temperaturen von -40.9 Grad Celsius. Die Stadt ist nicht weit entfernt von Oimjakon, dem Kaeltepol der bewohnten Gebiete der Erde.

The museum showcases expositions on the regions nature, animal and plant life of taiga, forest-tundra, tundra and the Arctic zone of the republic, as well as the history of Yakutia from Palaeolith to present times and of the Soviet period.
